What do the Elderly need? Research

I spent about maybe 25 hours in the last few days meeting and helping some of these elderly people and I wanted to know what they really needed and wanted. I suddenly realized what they are looking for and needing from us younger people... they want respect. They want to be treated as if they belong to in our society not as if they were second class citizens. We have to Acknowledge them make sure they do exist. Help them open the door for them and be polite. I talked about a few of the people i help but I help spoke and met many of the people who lived in the fairways community. I am not going to stop my blog. It is actually going to continue after this class is over.

Meeting a group of elderly women with a different walk of life

Each elderly woman has a different walk of life some came form German, some came from, New York and some came from Mexico and some came from Florida but each have a walk of life. While I was at  golf course i met a few women who ask me what is a service learning project. I explain to them that service learning is like volunteer work. What that means is that I am doing a service and at the same time I am learning. I was shocked to find out out of the 7 women only 2 of them finish school. I was told by them that because they were born in the 1930's and 1940's and one was born in 1920's and the rest in the 1940's they had to drop out of school and take care of their siblings and also one of them had to get married because she got pregnant at 16 years old and it was forced on her and those days you were lucky if you were a girl and went to school if you were no the eldest girl. I was told by one that if you were allowed to work you were lucky. Most people did not let women work any where unless she was like an office assistant or Secretary or something like that. No working in no factory or anything. I was remembering after watching North country that was so sad that those women really wanted to work in those mines and they were treated like second class citizens that was so unfair.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CArFMPcXrUc .(this is a clip of North Country)
It is so sad that women back then had no right until the women's movement  fought for the women to work

I help Ms. Cheyenne DuLois

People are so evil today and the reason why i say this is because old people should not be abuse by any nursing homes nor any where else everyone has equal human rights. I reu member watching the movie North Country when those women where being mistreated by those men because they felt they did not belong there and it is a man world.... I believe in equal right and elderly people are real human's two... Here is a news story that tells you about a woman who was battered in a nursing home.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R3ehdW_OF4&noredirect=1

This is a documentary of some of the abuse some elderly people face at a homemaking... Ms DuLois was pulled out of the nursing home because she was seriously abused... A nurse was caught hitting her.... The way I help her was by taking her shopping and finding some items in the store black Friday. Surprisingly it was not so bad at Ross... I love Ross it is a fun place to shop.... Going back to what i was saying before... Every woman man and child and elderly person need to be treated with the same respect as everyone else. We are all equal....

I Actually met some Amazing people

So today i went and introduced myself to some of the people at the Fair winds community and they were pretty much amazing first I spoke to a lady named Tabatha who is still working at 63 years old. I learned she was still works because the amount of money social security was giving her was not enough to pay her land tax.I told her that since she is over the age of 65 there is many opportunities for her... For example Medicare offers low premiums and no premiums and zero co-pays for a lot health care benefits...She said that because medicare takes so much money out of her check like 99 dollars each month she can hardly afford to live so i did some research on how elderly people are treated when it come to employment and the government... this is want i found out

This graph actually showing the amount of people working in our system and the this keeps raising...

I had gotten the answer to my question very quickly... The reason why lots of elderly people are not retiring is because many of them are not saving enough to live off of by the time they reach retirement age....http://tipstrategies.com/blog/2012/10/more-people-over-65-are-still-working/

I originally wanted to work with battered women and children but I change my mind i decided to work with the elderly... I really have a soft spot for them... I work for Medicare and I realized the treatment they were receiving and I decided i would do some work with the older women in my neighborhood... I live near Avalon Park there is a community called Fairways it has a lot of elderly people there and I am going to go there and see if I can be of assistance.... i will be back with some results

my Orginal propsol I

Hidden Treasure Fellowship, Assist Abused Women and Children
This fall I plan on getting involved with Hidden Treasures Fellowship and I want to help with battered women and children who are being abused by their parents. I hope to help women of all races and from all background. My main goal is to hopefully help Haitian women because I am Haitian and I know we are victims of domestic violence.
I do plan on contacting Debbie Day Brace land and asking her for more information on the program. What I do know I do want to reach out to young women as well. I do not mind working with the people who come in and ask for help and want to know what I can do to make their situation better. I would also like to offer advice to women and children who are in an abusive situation and do not know who to turn to. I am hoping to be that soft spot they can fall onto.
Lastly, I will be working alone and I may have a group if someone in the class does not have any idea. I want this to be a personal experience for me so that I can make a difference in some else’s life.  I know this will have a lot to do with this class because most women now a days are still not being respected.  I know in the recent text many women had to fight for a voice and to be able to work and read and write. Now that women are equal we should stand together and try to make a difference together and stop the abuse of women who may not know they do have a say in what is going on in our country.
